From Resistance to Assistance: Mobilizing Liberia's Chiefs Against Ebola

Faced with mounting obstacles in the battle against Ebola, Liberian ministries and international health agencies asked The Carter Center to help them communicate to the nation's rural population accurate and culturally sensitive information about the virus. Building on years of engagement in Liberia, the Center was able to leverage well-developed networks of customary and civil society leaders to disseminate life-saving information and allow health teams greater access to rural communities.
