Carter Center Election Monitoring

Impartial election observers can strengthen an electoral process by providing an independent assessment of election preparations, capabilities, and fairness. The Carter Center has been a pioneer of election observation, monitoring 100 elections in Africa, Latin America, and Asia since 1989, and forging many of the techniques now common to the field.

Founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, The Carter Center is committed to advancing human rights and alleviating unnecessary human suffering. The Center wages peace, fights disease, and builds hope worldwide.
