Mobilizing for Mental Health in Liberia

While Liberians endured the deadliest Ebola outbreak in recorded history, Carter Center-trained mental health clinicians mobilized across the country to provide psychological aid for those affected with Ebola, their family members, and health workers. In addition to training a mental health workforce, The Carter Center has been working closely with Liberia’s Ministry of Health since 2010 to shore up the country’s fragile mental health system and combat stigma surrounding mental illnesses.
