Countries Unite to Eliminate Diseases

The Dominican Republic and Haiti share the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, and unfortunately, also share the mosquito-borne diseases of malaria and lymphatic filariasis. The Carter Center is assisting the ministries of health in both countries as they work together to eliminate these diseases which inflict physical, emotional, and economic devastation on the island's communities.
